- Have you ever had the feeling of being rushed into treatment ?
- Have you ever believed that a person is not really understanding your problem and secondary concerns or not picking up on the nuance of your English?
- Do you fear getting into an office only to find out that a practitioner is odd or not fully rational and you might reach that point where it's too late to leave?
- Do you fear cleanliness practices of an unknown person?
- Do you like to know the treatment strategy and what is being monitored ?
- Are security curtains an oxymoron ?
At Absolute Qi, We strive to be the antithesis of the above practitioner.
If you choose Absolute Qi, you will notice a difference from our first meeting. We spend at least 30 minutes covering your health history, accidents, disease and circumstances leading up to your current situation. Then we talk about your problem. We may put you on a treatment table to gently touch areas related to your complaint in order to better understand the dimensions of your problem. We then give you an honest opinion, based on my 25 years of experience on what your acupuncture prognosis is. If acupuncture makes sense for your problem, we discuss a treatment plan, give you likely outcomes and number of treatments before you will know if it's working and make adjustments based on your concerns.
We are not from the class of alternative medicine practitioner who embrace their technique as somehow unnoticed by western science... You know the types, they usually have some previously unheard-of solution, technique or something else that is the new magical cure-all. Or they have some non-touch way of healing. Then there are those who have that rational leap of faith. A is true, b is true therefore f is true (What happened to c,d,e?) The're everywhere. It makes no sense to me either. I'm a cause and effect type of person.
Our treatment techniques all involve manual touch, looking for real clues related to the cause of your pain and using needles, electronic stimulation and sometimes light massage to work on the cause of your problem. I hold a BA in Biology from Lehigh and a Masters in Acupuncture. I'm realistic, have a sound basis in a western understanding of medicine and basically use an ancient technique with a modern understanding.
We know and strictly follow clean needle techniques. In my previous career, I tested water for bacterial content to an extreme level. Full body suites, air washes and extreme handling care in insuring the purity of the drugs that were produced. That attitude remains with me in my handling of needles. I'm also a bit of a clean freak.
Finally, we try to maintain a clean, calm environment as we believe that it enhances your treatment and care we are trying to create. No cold white walls, dirty floors or bathrooms here. Each patient has a private treatment room with a door. Did I mention calming music? Heat lamps?
