My New Son

April 25, 2009

I’m proud to announce my new son Max. He was born mid April and is healhy and happy.

My experience with this birth was 100% different than my first.

My first lasted about 1.5 days, I was sent home as my labor stopped after being fairly consistant and strong.

I went home in the morning, had a nice middle-eastern dinner from Effes in New Brunswick and then labor restarted. I gave birth the next early morning.

Maxs’ birth lasted 5 hours from start to finish and was much less intense. My husband says it was like 4 people sitting around and drinking tea. I might say 3 people drinking tea and one doing hard (but relatively short) labor.

I’ll be taking a small amount of time away from my practice until he and I stabilize.
